The School Committee is scheduled to meet this Saturday, Jan. 12, to hear presentations from two search firms, one of which will be chosen to assist in the selection of a new superintendent.

The meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in the Wareham Middle School auditorium.

After the public presentations, the School Committee is scheduled to go into executive session to discuss contract negotiations.

Superintendent Dr. Barry Rabinovitch, who has held the post for nearly four years, announced his retirement on Dec. 5, saying that he perceived his annual evaluation, completed earlier this fall, to be an "injustice." His retirement is effective July 31, 2013.
