Wareham Public Schools staff teamed up with the Council on Aging earlier this year to provide masks to kids and seniors in need.

Using fabric donated to the Council on Aging, volunteers including bus drivers, senior citizens, paraprofessionals, and parents go to work sewing masks for kids and adults.

The masks were then distributed to Meals on Wheels recipients and kids getting free breakfasts and lunches.

“I put out the email saying we need help and we have this material, and within minutes I had so many responses,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kimberly Shaver-Hood. “I’m just so thrilled that people have volunteered and stepped up. There’s been no hesitation.”
