During its Nov. 2 meeting, the Select Board unanimously authorized a proclamation encouraging Wareham residents to “observe a moment of silence” at 11 a.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

“We acknowledge that our debt to our veterans does not end the day their uniform is retired, nor should our gratitude be expressed only one day a year,” the proclamation reads.

A Veterans Day event of some sort will be held at the Onset VFW on Nov. 11, but details of the event have not yet been made available.
