Selectmen fill openings on Conservation Commission, Council on Aging
Selectmen filled openings on two boards Tuesday night, making appointments to the Conservation Commission and Council on Aging Board of Directors.
Robert Lassen was appointed as an associate member of the Conservation Commission for a term that expires June 30, 2017. Ann McGinn was placed on the Council on Aging for a term that expires June 30, 2021.
Lassen, who moved to town two years ago, said he decided to volunteer after getting settled.
“Seeing as we’re going to be here awhile it seemed time to step up and help out,” said Lassen.
McGinn, who arrived in town four years ago, echoed that sentiment.
“I’ve adopted Onset as my home. It’s like a slice of heaven and I love it here,” said McGinn.
Chair Judith Whiteside commented on McGinn’s application for the position, asking why McGinn wrote “too long to write here” in response to a question about her business experience.
McGinn said she has an extensive financial management background. She noted her previous job was at Boston Data Financial Services, a consulting firm.
