“We can’t hear you,” yelled the Wareham High School senior class at the rival juniors during the cheering contest.

But they were both drowned out by the high-pitched screams of eighth-graders, who won the contest hands down.

The pep rally capped off a spirit week filled with costumes, cheer, and charity all leading up to the homecoming game on Saturday.

During spirit week, each grade competed to get the most students to dress up for themed days such as decades day and twin day.

Not only did students dress to impress throughout the week, but they also showed support for their community by donating non-perishables to Damien’s Food Pantry.

Students could earn extra points for their class if they brought in “double point” items such as peanut butter or pasta.

With a total of 250 items, the seniors won the food drive. Altogether, Wareham Students donated 715 items to the food pantry.

Students celebrated The Wareham Vikings who lost the homecoming game 26-30 against Cape Cod RVT on Oct. 22.

From limbo to tug-of-war, they competed to win games for their classes.

The sophomores won first place in the “Beach Day” race, which involved students dragging their classmates on a beach towel across the gym floor.

Seniors won the majority of events including limbo, tug of war, and a game called “Dragonfly,” where the objective was to grab a flag out of an opponent's pocket as quickly as possible.

“Let’s go seniors,” they cheered for their fellow classmates.
