Shred it up at the YMCA

May 24, 2010

The Gleason Family YMCA is sponsoring its 3rd Annual Collection and Paper Shred Day on Saturday, June 12.

For a small fee, the public can responsibly dispose of old computers, air conditioners, microwaves, small appliances, TVs and paper. Trucks from PC Trading LTD, Kingston, and Shred King, Rockland, will be parked at the YMCA from 9 a.m. until noon.

Electronics, air conditioners, small appliances and microwaves cost $5, and TVs cost $15. The charge for the paper shredding is $5 per box (up to 30 pounds each). Participants are welcome to watch the destruction of their boxes of paper. Paper clips and staples do not need to be removed, but paper should be removed from folders and binders. Shredded paper will be recycled into new products.

For more information, call the Gleason Family YMCA at 508-295-9622. Proceeds from this Collection Day benefit the Gleason Family YMCA Annual Fund which provides camp experiences and memberships to those that cannot afford the YMCA experience on their own.
