Single-car accident on 195 west
Nov 9, 2011
State Police trooper John Smith and the Wareham Fire Department responded to a single-car accident on Interstate 195 west near the Route 28 exit on Wednesday afternoon.
The vehicle, a 2001 Ford Explorer, went over the guard rail and came to rest in a cranberry bog at the side of the road around 3:30 p.m., according to Massachusetts State Police spokesman Todd Nolan. The driver of the vehicle, 64-year-old Nicholas Carco of East Wareham, was not injured in the accident, but the vehicle was damaged and had to be towed out of the bog.
Carco was the only passenger in the vehicle. No gas or oil was spilled into the cranberry bog.
