Snow falls on Wareham; more expected throughout Monday
Feb 2, 2015
Wareham got another dose of snow in the early Monday morning hours, and it's reportedly supposed to continue throughout the day.
By 7 a.m., 2.3 inches of snow was reported by the National Weather Service, who predicted a total of 4 to 6 inches total for the area. A mix of rain, snow, and fog could develop into the afternoon, with colder temperatures expected into the evening.
Plows were out early Monday morning clearing away the snow, following a weekend that saw Municipal Maintenance crews digging out both downtown Wareham and Onset Center.
Wareham Public Schools' Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Shaver-Hood announced the closing of schools for Monday late Sunday evening. The opening of Town Offices was delayed until noon for Monday.
