Songs for the Sea to help marine life

May 17, 2012

Songs for the Sea, a family-friendly concert to raise money for the National Marine Life Center, will take place on May 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Buzzards Bay Park.

Wareham resident Grace Morrison is organizing the event with her band, Grace Morrison and the RSO, along with The Moldy Suitcases and Matt Borrello.

T-shirt sales and raffles at the concert will raise funds for the center, located in Buzzards Bay. A special Songs for the Sea shirt was designed by Wareham resident Naomi Oliver, a music student of Morrison's.

Interactive activities for children will be available and Carl the King Crab will make an appearance.

Organizers are still seeking raffle donations and are also collecting redeemable bottles and cans to raise funds to pay for the T-shirts. If you'd like to help out, drop off items or bottles and cans at the Marine Life Center (Main Street, Buzzards Bay) or at Music of the Bay, located on Cranberry Highway in East Wareham.
