SPINNEY LIBRARY TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY
The Friends of the Wareham Free Library announces that the last day it will operate the Spinney Memorial Library will be June 2nd so the town can prepare to take the operation over. Spinney will reopen as a full-service branch of the Wareham Free Library in early July. A grand opening ceremony is being planned and details will be announced in the near future. The Friends are currently working with the Town of Wareham to transfer the deed after Town Meeting voters voted to accept the facility in April. The library staff will be working throughout the month of June to purchase new books and materials and to set up the SAILS system to provide inter-library loan services. Anyone who currently holds a Wareham Free Library card will be able to use that card at the new branch. Others can apply for the free library cards at Spinney when it reopens or at the main library during its regular hours. A library card will be needed to borrow materials and use the Internet and computers. Watch the local media for summer programs and events that will be held at Spinney.
