Sports roundup: April 6
Girls Tennis
Wareham's Girls Tennis team has a rough start to the season with shut-out losses to Case, Middleboro, and Old Rochester Regional. The team was strongest against Case on its home courts in the season opener April 1; winning ten games despite a default by the second-doubles team in their second set.
Boys Volleyball
Individual accomplishments by Dylon Pyne, with 16 kills, and Dylan Marcal, with 14 assists, were not enough to lift Wareham over North Quincy on Monday night as the team lost 25-18, 26-24, and 25-15 in the away game.
Softball
Junior Kayana Jones delivered in her first start as a member of the Wareham Varsity Softball team, hitting a three-run homerun and a two-run triple as Wareham defeated their host, Sandwich, 12-7, on Monday. Jones was given the start after some regular players became ill.
