Staff and students at Decas celebrate World Smile Day

Oct 7, 2016

It was a celebration of kindness at John W. Decas Elementary school, where dozens of students were recognized for their random acts of kindness during World Smile Day.

The little ambassadors gathered on Friday afternoon with their printouts of ambassador stickers and smiles, jumping up and down to celebrate their good deeds.

Creator of the first smiley face, Harvey Ball, deemed that the first Friday of every October be World Smile Day, beginning in 1999. At first, it was held in Bell's hometown in Worcester. Then, it spread across the world. For more information on World Smile Day, visit the organization's webpage.
