State police seek witnesses of fatal crash

The Massachusetts State Police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed a fatal August 4 crash in Bourne, or any events that preceded the crash, contact troopers.

Bryan Brown, 22, of South Carolina, died in the crash after the van in which he was a passenger rolled over. The van's driver, a 42-year-old Providence, R.I., man, and another passenger, a 30-year-old Boston man, suffered serious injuries but survived.

The crash occurred at 12:53 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4 on Route 25 in Bourne, near the Plymouth line. The van, a white 1995 Ford Econoline with white lettering on the rear windows, was traveling eastbound when its driver lost control. The van rolled over and came to rest in the center median strip.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, or who observed a white van in that area of Route 25 prior to the crash, is asked to contact the State Police Barracks in Bourne at (508) 759-4488.

The facts and circumstances of this crash remain under investigation by Troop D of the Massachusetts State Police, with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
