Steven E. Sabourin, 56

Steven E. Sabourin, 56, of East Wareham died Jan. 1 at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford after a three year battle with multiple myeloma.  He was the husband of Michele (Isadore) Sabourin and the son of the late Helen (Laivo) and Raymond Sabourin.

A member of the First Congregational Church of Wareham, he served as the Christian Education Committee Chairman for eight years. He was an employee of the A.D. Makepeace Company for 38 years. He also served on the advisory board at Upper Cape Regional Technical School. A lifelong Red Sox fan, he enjoyed attending games and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Michele; his son Karl; brothers Raymond and his wife Doss, Robert and his wife Donna; sisters Jean and her husband Tom Galib, Sandra and her husband William Izzo, Lynn and her husband Don Frenette; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Remy.

Visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the First Congregational Church of Wareham, 11 Gibbs Ave., Wareham followed by a memorial service at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery, Wareham.
