Stop&Shop helps out schools
The Ethel E. Hammond and Minot Forest Elementary schools earned some cash from Stop&Shop this week, after the culmination of the store's A+ Bonus Bucks Program.
Hammond Elementary received $156.58, while Minot Forest received $645.07.
"It's nice when we can do something like this," said Jen Dennehy, Customer Service manager of the Cranberry Highway Stop&Shop.
The A+ Bonus Program allows customers to link their Stop&Shop card to a particular school, earning points whenever they make purchases. At the end of the school year, those points are converted into cash for the school. The program is free.
"It's the easiest fundraiser there is," said Joan Seamans, principal of both schools. She said the extra cash would likely go towards field trips for students.
