Stuff a cruiser with toys
The Wareham Police department and the Community Police Partnership are teaming up for a “stuff a cruiser” toy drive, on Saturday, December 4.
A new police cruiser will be parked outside Walmart in East Wareham and also outside Target at Wareham Crossing to be filled with new, unwrapped toys between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. All toys will be donated to the Dick Melloni Christmas Toy Drive, and Russ Brady, who organized the event along with Lt. John Walcek, said he hopes that they may have to bring out the paddy wagon to transfer toys several times during the day!
In addition, Santa Claus will be making an appearance (not in handcuffs, we hope…) to help encourage donations and pass out candy canes at each location.
“We wanted to make it a real eye-catching, fun event,” said Brady.
For more information, please contact Russ Brady at paparussh@comcast.net, or call the Wareham Police department at 508-295-1212. Please note that while they appreciate the generous thought, gift cards or cash donations will not be accepted.
