Summer Reading program kicks off with Superheroes July 7

The Summer Reading Program at the Wareham Library is set to kick off on Tuesday, July 7 with an "Every Hero has a Story" reading event.

Children will have the chance to meet their favorite local heroes and get their autographs, plant in community garden, get their face painted and zoom around the Library's "story walk". Children are encouraged to come dressed up as their favorite super hero.

The summer reading program starts on July 7 and runs for six weeks through Aug. 13 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The following activities are scheduled for the Summer Reading Program: "Story Time with Ms. Hickey" is scheduled for Mondays at 9:30 a.m. at the Spinney Library, 259 Onset Ave. Mondays at noon is "Lunch with a Hero" at Spinney. Children must bring their own lunch.

On Tuesdays the Story Walk is open all day at the Wareham Free Library from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"Music with Mar" will take place at the Wareham Free Library, 59 Marion Road, starting Tuesday, July 14. It will run for the rest of the summer program on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. "Teddy Bear Story Time" will be 6 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Library.

On Thursdays at the Wareham Free Library, "Story Time with Mrs. Hickey" will take place at 10:30 a.m. "Lunch with a Hero" will be at noon.

The Summer Reading Program is sponsored by A.D. Makepeace, the Friends of the Wareham Free Library, the Wareham Library Foundation, the United Way of the Greater New Bedford and the Wareham Public Schools.

The Library will be closed on Saturday, July 4 and starting July 6 there will be new hours for both the Main Library and Spinney.

Main Library:
Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Wednesday: CLOSED
Thursday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday: CLOSED
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Spinney Library:
Monday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
