Suspect sought in Mayflower Bank robbery in West Wareham

Wareham Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed Mayflower Bank in West Wareham of an undetermined amount of cash around 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 19.

Police said a white man with light colored hair, possibly in his mid to late 20s, entered the bank with a black handgun and demanded money from a teller. No injuries were reported at the scene and no customers were inside the bank at the time of the incident, according to police.

A witness said they saw a newer, silver colored four-door Chrysler 200 sedan speeding from the area at the time of the incident, according to police. The car was parked in the parking lot of an adjacent business.

Officers and a canine partner searched the area, but did not find the suspect or the vehicle, according to police.
