Swearing-in in style

Jun 26, 2020

Newly elected selectman Judith Whiteside and reelected selectman Peter Teitelbaum swore in in style outside Town Hall on Wednesday.

The officials stayed in Teitelbaum’s convertible as Town Clerk Michele Bissonnette had them sign and swear into office.

Whiteside was voted in on Tuesday to fill the seat left open by Mary Mackey, who declined to run for re-election. Whiteside has more than thirty years experience volunteering for the town, including stints on the Board of Selectmen and the Finance Committee. She was also a founding member of Don’t Trash Wareham.

Teitelbaum was first elected to the board in 2012, and also serves as the chair of the Redevelopment Authority.

Both emphasized the importance of stability during the pandemic and the economic troubles to follow.
