'Symphony Tales' music and literacy program at library this Saturday
The Wareham Free Library will host "Symphony Tales," a music and literacy program for pre-schoolers presented by the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, on March 17.
Families can attend either of two sessions of the program. One begins at 11 a.m. and continues to 12 p.m., while the second is from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Symphony Tales is ideal for children ages 4 through 7. A New Bedford Symphony Orchestra cellist will read "Scritch-Scratch a Perfect Match," speaking the text using musical notes and rhythms.
After the performance, children will participate in interactive, rhythmic speaking and movement activities and be able to play a cello that is sized just for them.
Stop by the Children's Room or call the Wareham Free Library at 508-295-2343, ext. 1014 to register your family for one of the performances.
The Wareham Free Library is located at 59 Marion Road.
