Tax deadlines extended

Town Administrator Derek Sullivan reminded town taxpayers that the due date for fourth quarter real estate and personal property taxes has been moved from May 1, 2020, to June 1, 2020, which is the furthest allowed by Governor Baker’s legislation.

The deadline for applications for real estate exemptions and deferral applications has also been moved from April 1 to June 1. Call the Assessing Department at (508) 291-3160 for more information.

The Town Treasurer and Collector’s Office continues to be closed. Payments can be mailed to Town of Wareham, PO Box 578, Medford, MA 02155-0006 or dropped in the silver mailbox outside Town Hall at 54 Marion Road. Payments can also be made over the phone by calling City Hall Systems at (508) 381-5455 or online at https://www.wareham.ma.us/treasurercollector/pages/online-tax-bill-payment-links. There is a 2.95 percent fee when paying with a credit or debit card and there is no fee for paying through a checking or savings account.
