Teen Poetry Contest

Feb 24, 2012

There's still time for Wareham teens in grades 5 – 12 to enter a poem in the Wareham Free Library's February Poetry Contest underway now. To enter, submit your original poem (or more than one) by midnight on February 29th. Bring your poem(s) to the new teen area at the library or email them to the library. Please include your name and contact information with your entry.
Activities for tweens and teens in grades 5 – 12 are now going on in the library's teen area after school every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Drop in for the first meeting of the writing club on Tuesday, February 28, and the newly formed anime club on Wednesday, February 29. Getting ready for the PSAT or SAT? Teens in grades 8– 12 are invited to join the new Introduction to Latin & Ancient Rome group. Studying Latin improves your vocabulary and helps you on standardized tests! Other afternoons, teens will have opportunities to create art, play video games, learn to cook, and join a book discussion group. On March 15, teens will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with green duct tape crafts, cookie decorating, Irish music, and green party food.
Grant funding for teen area activities comes from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
