WAREHAM – Theodore "Ted" J. Masters, Jr., 78, of Wareham, passed away on August 28, 2023, at the V. A. Medical Center, West Roxbury. He was the husband of the late Veronica M. (Walter) Masters, and the son of the late Theodore J. Masters, Sr. and Mildred (Lewis) Masters.

He was born in Somerville and grew up in Arlington, but lived in Wareham for most of his life. He graduated from Arlington High School. He spent his summers in Buzzards Bay for many years during his youth. Mr. Masters was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Masters worked many jobs; including a courier in the Boston area, a Wheelchair Transport Company in Plymouth, and most remembered for working as a forklift operator at Ocean Spray. He also enjoyed volunteering his time at the Wareham Council on Aging delivering Meals on Wheels in his retirement.

He was a history buff and was curious about learning new things, but talking to people was one of his favorite pastimes, earning him the catch phrase "it's been nice talking to ya". He loved many different sci-fi genres, most notably Star Trek, and he loved watching westerns. He loved animals and always had a few in his household, but his favorites were always beagles.

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Ringgard and her husband Ron of Bourne; a brother, Richard Hamilton of KY; many nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late David Masters, Sr., Cindy Westgate, Elizabeth Masters, James Masters, and Lloyd Hamilton.

His funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.

Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
