Theresa M. Volanski, 94

Theresa M. Volanski, aged 94, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, in Wareham, Massachusetts. Born September 3, 1931, in Morgantown, West Virginia, (parents Joseph and Nellie Garzia). Theresa lived a long and fulfilling life marked by love, dedication, and generosity.

Theresa was a proud graduate of Andrew’s School for Girls, an accomplishment that laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to family and community. She was known for her loving and caring nature, which she expressed through her talents and passion. Theresa had a gift for sewing and cooking, skills she used to bring joy to those around her. Whether preparing meals and sewing for loved ones, she found immense happiness in creating moments of connection and comfort. 

Family was the heart of Theresa’s life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Volanski; her daughter Donna Jo Hinson; and son Thomas Volanski.  She is survived by her devoted daughters Cheryl (Eric) Lintala and Karen (Charles) Opitz. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Jaime Pendergrass, Deanna Clover, Barry Opitz, Kristen Thompson, Katie Keith, Lauren Sylvia, Michael Opitz, and Joetta Luna. Theresa also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild who will carry forward the memories of her warmth and kindness. 

Theresa found immense joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her home was often filled with laughter and love as she created lasting memories with those she held dear. Her generosity of spirit touched everyone who knew her.

May Theresa’s memory bring comfort to all who loved her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the love she shared so freely throughout her life.

The family will hold a private memorial service to be held at a later date.
