Things are looking up in Wareham
Everyone had a different method to get a peek of the partial solar eclipse above Wareham on Monday: some used their cell phones, others made a paper cup projector and others snagged eclipse glasses.
Those in Massachusetts only witnessed a partial eclipse, though the sun was totally eclipsed in some parts of the country. The partial eclipse began around 1:27 p.m. and peaked at 2:46 p.m., with Massachusetts seeing around 63 percent of the sun obscured.
Joanna Cassidy used a styrofoam cup with a pinpoint hole in it and a piece of paper to reflect the sun's image onto, while Danielle Sly used her camera to try to get a shot of the eclipsed sun. Bill Lytle stood on Main Street figuring out his cell phone's camera for the first time in hopes of seeing the eclipse through the camera phone.
This was the first time since 1979 that a total eclipse was visible from the United States.
