Redmen Hall will host its first Thursday night cornhole tournament at 745 Main Street.
Registration begins at 6 p.m., and the tournament starts at 7 p.m. There’s a $20 dollar entry fee, with a blind draw for partners, and prizes for top three finishers.

Explore Wareham
The town of Wareham, on the South Coast of Massachusetts, features hidden natural gems along its lengthy coast and within its inland open spaces.
The television show Explore New England will air an episode featuring Wareham’s outdoors this coming week on the New England Sports Network. It will air on NESN on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 9 a.m. and on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 2:30 p.m., and on NESN+ on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 11 p.m.
The episode features fishing for striped bass in Buzzards Bay, mountain biking through Minot Forest, kayaking on the Agawam River, hiking in Marks Cove, and sailing on Onset Bay, as well as a look at the town’s searun brook trout population and restoration work on the Weweantic River.

Local lore
The Wareham Historical Society will host a special presentation by Bourne — Wareham Race Amity that delves into the life of Belmira Nunes Lopes, Wareham’s first high school graduate of Cape Verdean ancestry and possibly the first person of color to graduate in Wareham. 
The event will take place at the Wareham Historical Soiety on Monday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m.
This event is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring their curiosity and questions for a question and answer session following the presentation. There is a $2.00 fee for non-members.

Trim a trail
The Wareham Land Trust and volunteers will meet to trim Kora’s Loop at the Red Brook Trail Network. Volunteers will meet at 10 a.m. and work until around 12 p.m. Parking is available at the Onset Water District Office 15 Sand Pond Road, Onset.
The Land Trust will provide tools, including clippers, loppers and saws, but requests that participants bring their own gloves, water, bug spray and appropriate woods attire.
