The Tobey Hospital Guild will hold its annual gala on Saturday, September 29, with proceeds to benefit the Guild’s $100,000 pledge to purchase new patient equipment at Tobey.

The theme of this year’s event is “An Evening of Doo-Wop” with entertainment provided by the Tune Weavers, well known for their top hit, “Happy, Happy Birthday Baby.” In true doo-wop style, dancing will be optional.

The event will kick off with hors d’oeuvres beginning at 6 p.m. and will take place at White’s of Westport, 66 State Road in Westport. Tickets are $100 per person and must be purchased in advance by calling 508-961-5752 ($60 of the ticket price is tax deductible). Hors d’oeuvres will include international cheese and crackers, golden calamari, a pizza station, Italian bruschetta, coconut chicken, and pork tenderloin, paired with a wine selection. Dinner will include a garden salad with oven-roasted sliced tenderloin of beef and Maryland crab cakes paired with a wine selection. Dessert will include New York style cheesecake with fresh blueberries paired with a wine selection. Wine for the event has been donated by Douglas Wine & Spirits.

The event will also feature a live and silent auction.

The Guild has pledged $100,000 to purchase patient equipment for Tobey Hospital. Proceeds from this event will help honor this pledge.
