The Tobey Hospital Guild will host its annual fundraising gala on Saturday, Sept. 21, with opera singer Patrice Tiedemann.

Proceeds of the gala will benefit the Guild’s $100,000 pledge to purchase new equipment at Tobey.

Tiedemann, a nationally known opera singer, is the headliner in "Tobey Guild Showcases the Arts." Entertainment will also include baritone Paul Soper; classical guitarist Coby Willamson, who performs regularly on Broadway; pianist Matthew Larson; harpist Judith Mitchell; and professional ballerinas from the Greg Salunier Dance Troupe.

The evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres and sparkling wine at 6 p.m. and will take place at Rachel’s Lakeside, 950 State Road in Dartmouth. Tickets are $100 per person and must be purchased in advance by calling Agatha St. Amour at 508-961-5752 ($60 of the ticket price is tax deductible).

Hors d’oeuvres will include coconut chicken with orange marmalade dipping sauce, pork tenderloin on crustini, lamb chops, sweet potato fries, and a deluxe cheese and cracker station.

Dinner will begin at 7 p.m. with Ten Cousins crab & corn chowder, a baby greens salad and a choice of roasted aged tenderloin of beef or baked stuffed shrimp. The meal will conclude with a serving of red velvet ice cream pie topped with fresh, homemade whipped cream. Each course will be accompanied by a pairing wine.

The event will also feature a live and silent auction.

“Today’s technology is forever changing and the Guild is very proud to help Tobey Hospital provide state of the art equipment for its patients,” said Dorothy Rasmussen, President of the Tobey Hospital Guild. “Our Guild members work tremendously hard to provide a wonderful evening that will help support our community hospital.”
