Town administrator position posted
Wareham may be one step closer to a permanent town administrator.
Interim Town Administrator Derek Sullivan told Selectmen on Tuesday that the permanent position had been posted, with the listing expiring on November 28.
The Selectmen did not discuss whether any viable candidates had emerged as a result of the most recent posting, but had unanimously voted earlier this month to enter into contract negotiations with Sullivan. At that time, the Selectmen were unsure whether they had to post the job again for legal reasons.
Sullivan, who serves as the town's financial analyst, was appointed to the interim position in August while the town continued to interview for the permanent position, which was vacated by Mark Andrews in April.
A hiring committee narrowed the applicants down to three finalists, who were interviewed and rejected by the Selectmen in September.
