Trade Roots dispensary to officially open March 3

Mar 2, 2022

Wareham’s newest cannabis dispensary, Trade Roots, is now open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week at 6 Thatcher Ln.

“I’m so proud of our team,” said co-owner Carl Giannone as he surveyed the new retail space.

The store has been designed with help from a number of local artists and craftspeople. Each register is adorned with a hand-carved nautical sculpture created by a sibling of one of the company’s cannabis extractors, and Tremont Woodworking built shelves and tables for the space. The signs were also made by a local company.

“We tried to use a lot of local businesses,” Giannone said.

The centerpiece of the space is a window into one of the facility’s grow rooms — the only one like it in the state. Customers can also see (and smell) the products before they buy, which is unusual among dispensaries.

“It’s an interactive experience,” Giannone said.

Co-owner and Wareham native Jesse Pitts thanked the community for its patience, and said he’s excited to finally open the dispensary.
