Wareham Police arrested a man and a woman Monday evening after a traffic stop turned up codeine and an electronic stun gun.

According to police, the driver, 25-year-old Anthony Spinola of Onset was arrested on an outstanding warrant.  The passenger, 19-year-old Darchea Dickerson of Wareham, was arrested after police found codeine (a Class C substance) and an electronic stun gun in her possession.

Police pulled the vehicle over at the intersection of Doherty Street and Onset Avenue at approximately 7:15 p.m.

The stun gun possessed by Dickerson "causes loss of balance and muscle control, confusion, and disorientation, as the intended target of the stun gun is most often brought to their knees and incapable of muscle actions for 3-5 seconds," according to police.

Spinola and Dickerson were set to be arraigned at Wareham District Court on Tuesday, October 7.
