UPDATE: DECA fundraiser pushed back to Tuesday
The Wareham High School chapter of Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association has been pushed back to Tuesday, February 10.
Originally scheduled for Monday night, the event will be held at Mezza Luna, 253 Main Street, Buzzards Bay at 6 p.m Tuesday. Tickets are $20 per person, or $40 for a family of four. There will be an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet and a cash bar. Formal dress is recommended.
In June of 2014, DECA member Christopher Dorné passed away following complications from surgery relating to muscular dystrophy. Dorné's struggle with the disease prompted DECA members to raise money in his honor.
“Everyone knew Chris in the school, and they’re all very supportive,” said DECA member Brianna Williams.
Currently, DECA has raised $1,400 to put towards the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
"We have a goal of reaching $2,500," said Williams.
