Upper Cape Tech employee charged with statutory rape
An Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School employee was charged with three counts of aggravated statutory rape after he allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old female student.
Robert Ward, 46, of Bourne was arrested after he allegedly had intercourse with the teenager on three occasions over the past two weeks, according to Plymouth Police Captain John Rogers. The incidents allegedly took place in Plymouth.
Rogers said he could not release any more details, including where exactly the incidents allegedly took place, in order to protect the victim.
Ward was an information technology specialist at the high school, but has reportedly been fired. He was arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Thursday and released.
