An Oak Bluffs woman was killed Monday night when the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee she was driving veered off Interstate 495 south, according to State Police.

The vehicle caught fire after it entered the woods just north of Exit 1 around 8:10 p.m. on Monday, State Police said.

State Police have identified the woman as 57-year-old Penelope H. Dickens.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. State Police are continuing to investigate the cause.
