Viola Enos, 88

Viola (D’Angeli) Enos, “Vi," 88, of Wareham, formerly of Somerville and Medford, beloved wife of the late Lawrence “Larry” Enos, passed away September 1, with her family at her side at Sippican Health Care Center in Marion.

She was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Lucia S. (Mei) D’Angeli, and attended Somerville Public Schools. Vi was a clerk and translator for the U.S. Army during WWII, an inspector at Gillette, and worked in food services for Medford public schools. Vi and Larry summered at Swifts Beach for many years and relocated there in 1974. She retired in 1988 as a cook at the Decas School in Wareham.

Vi is survived by her children: Lawrence Enos and wife Geraldine of Boston, Paul Enos and wife Lois of Norwood, and Debra Reed and husband Robert of Wareham; grandchildren: Susanne Enos, David Enos, Benjamin Enos, Bethany Northardt and Kyle Reed; and great-grandchildren Charlie and Christopher. She is survived by her dear sister Ida Sylva and husband Tony of Medford, and many loving nieces and nephews. Vi’s life was also enriched by her friendship with Etelvina Sylvia, and the loving care of the staff at Sippican Health Care Center in Marion.

Vi was predeceased by her beloved siblings Mary DiPalma, Narchia Corliss, Rico, Leo, Franny, Steve, Rebby, Casey, Bill, and Charlie D’Angeli.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, September 7, at 11 a.m. at the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center Street, Wareham. Memorial visiting hours will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her name may be directed to the Gateway Adult Center, 2621 Cranberry Highway, Wareham, MA 02571 or to a charity of your choice.
