Southcoast Health will be offering walk-in vaccines without appointments at various locations this week, with more walk-in clinics to come.

Two walk-in days are currently scheduled for Southcoast Health’s new vaccine clinic at the Wareham Multiservice Center at 48 Marion Rd. on Saturday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to noon; and on Tuesday, May 11, from 3 to 7 p.m. The Moderna vaccine will be on offer both days, and patients can choose to make an appointment or walk up.

Southcoast’s Wellness Van will be giving walk-up only Johnson and Johnson (one-dose) vaccines at the Woods at Wareham, 48 Swifts Beach Rd., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 13.

Patients do not need to have a Southcoast Health primary care provider to get vaccinated through Southcoast.

Southcoast is also hosting walk-in clinics in Fall River and Dartmouth.

In Dartmouth, anyone can walk in for a vaccine at the old Vanity Fair Outlet at 375 Faunce Corner Rd. during the following clinics:
-Saturday, May 8: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Pfizer)
-Monday, May 10: 3 to 7 p.m. (Johnson and Johnson)

Walk-in vaccines will also be available at the Liberal Club at 20 Star St., Fall River, during the following clinics:
-Monday, May 10: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Johnson and Johnson)
-Tuesday, May 11: 4 to 8 p.m. (Pfizer)
-Wednesday, May 12: 4 to 8 p.m. (Moderna)

These walk-in clinics distribute first doses of the vaccine to patients. Second dose appointments are automatically scheduled for each patient.

People over the age of 18 can sign up to receive any vaccine, but those ages 16 and 17 can only get the Pfizer vaccine.

Those eligible for the vaccine can find appointments at other providers around the state using the state’s website vaxfinder.mass.gov.

People over the age of 18 can sign up to receive any vaccine, but those age 16 and 17 can only get the Pfizer vaccine. 

Wareham’s Council on Aging staff has launched a hotline for residents who need help making a covid-19 vaccine appointment. Residents can dial 508-291-3100 Ext. 6530 from 8 a.m. until noon Monday through Friday and staff will assist with finding a mass vaccination site with openings and booking the appointment.

The state has also set up a call center for those who are eligible for the vaccine but are unable to access the vaccine appointment website or who have trouble navigating the complex online system.

From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, people can call 211 and navigate to the vaccine help line by pressing two when prompted. The call center has workers on staff who speak English and Spanish, and there are translators available to support residents in about 100 additional languages.
