Walk for peace on June 20
Event Date
Residents have an opportunity to come together and walk to promote peace on Saturday, June 20 at 2 p.m.
The walk will begin at the parking lot next to the fire station on Main Street. Participants will walk up and down the street to raise awareness and speak out for peace.
Wareham Faith in Action, the group hosting the walk, is organizing "to be a peaceful and visible presence in a world that needs more peace."
According to the Faith in Action group, the walk is open to anyone who supports a message of peace. Participants do not need to walk the whole route and can opt to bring a chair and sit in solidarity and welcome back those who walk at the end of the route.
According to organizers, the event is not meant to be a protest or rally. Participants are asked to leave political signs at home and instead carry messages promoting peace and unity.
