Wallace L. “Wally” Alden, 88 of Buzzards Bay, MA, passed away on June 22, 2024 at Tobey Hospital. Wally was one of eight children - born to the late William Cliff and Charlotte Alden (Brigham) in Sagamore, MA on September 19, 1935.

Wally grew up in Bourne, Massachusetts and graduated from Bourne high school. He proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Wally was an active and devoted member in the American Legion Post 188, the Elks, and Mason’s. He enjoyed watching the Celtics, the Yankees and Giants. He played softball and baseball, and enjoyed golfing, and fishing. He loved walking the canal or just stopping to sit and read of book at the canal.

He is survived by his loving wife Eileen Marie Alden (Purdy) to whom shared 55 wonderful years together. His brothers, Ernie, Mike and John Alden. His children, Theresa, Rodney, Raymond, Tina and Wallace along with his 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by many family and friends.

A celebration of life visitation for Wally will be held Wednesday July 10, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd, Bourne, MA 02532. A celebration of life service will occur Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM in the funeral home. A graveside with full military honors will follow from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne, MA.
