Walmart in East Wareham was evacuated around 10 a.m. on Friday after a minor fire in the area of the loading dock caused smoke to enter the store.

The fire was caused by workers who were welding, according to the Wareham Fire Department. Rubber attached to the building was ignited.

Shoppers were allowed back into the store a short time later. The adjacent stores in the plaza, including Stop & Shop, were not affected during the incident.
