Wareham 8th graders get an early look at college

Jan 26, 2015

Nearly 40 eighth-grade students got a look at college life during a few recent field trips.

The students, who are enrolled in the Wareham High School Accelerated Academic Academy,  paid visits to Wheaton College in Norton and Stonehill College in Easton last week.

At the Accelerated Academic Academy students take advanced, freshmen-level courses in addition to their eigth-grade requirements.

On the trip, they heard from Wareham alum attending the schools -- including Class of 2014 Valedictorian Emma Wynne at Wheaton -- and met with admissions counselors during the visits.
