Wareham Attorney honored by Women's Bar Foundation

May 29, 2012

Attorney Paula Mangum of Wareham was honored by the Women's Bar Foundation at its annual "Comedy Night" fundraiser at the Boston Harbor Hotel on Thursday, May 24, for her pro bono work with the Family Law Project for Battered Women.

The event recognizes attorneys who, through their volunteer service to the Women's Bar Foundation, have improved the lives of low-income women and their families.

The night also poked fun at lawyers and the legal profession while raising funds and bringing attention to the Women's Bar Foundation’s five pro bono projects: the Family Law Project for Battered Women; the Framingham Project for Incarcerated Women; the Women’s Lunch Place Project; the Hampden County Housing Court Project; and the Elder Law Project.

These projects provide low-income women and their families with legal assistance in matters related to domestic violence, homelessness, end-of-life decision making, and other critical legal issues.
