Wareham author Gretchan Pyne to hold book reading, signing
On Mother’s Day weekend, Wareham author and resident Gretchan A. Pyne will release her newest book entitled “I Am The Rainbow: A Moment in Heaven,” and will hold two book readings/signings in town.
The book reading and signing events will be at The Old Company Store on Saturday, May 10th from 11-2 p.m., and at Twigs and Tides (across from post office) Sunday, May 11th from 12-2 p.m.
On July 14, 2001, the Pyne family, while vacationing on Cape Cod, stopped at an ice cream stand. As it started to mist outside, a double-rainbow appeared. Their youngest child Olivia (“Lulu”) Pyne started to dance under the rainbows. Lulu posed for a picture leaning against a bicycle rack. Unsecured, it fell on Lulu and severed her heart.
Gretchan A. Pyne has turned a personal tragedy – the death of her 4-year-old daughter—into a powerful message of hope, compassion and purpose that has touched thousands of grieving families and children in need.
“I Am the Rainbow: A Moment in Heaven” is the true story of Gretchan’s vivid and life-altering encounter with Lulu in a dream more real and tangible than any other she’d ever experienced. Their dance together in a celestial world of breathtaking beauty and liquid color ends with the little girl’s joyful words lingering in her mother’s ears: “Momma, don’t you see? I’m not over the rainbow ... I am the rainbow!”
Gretchan’s latest inspirational book captures the magic and mystery of a heavenly meeting that’s sure to bring meaning to anyone who has lost hope and inspiration to those who have lost the passion to follow their dreams.
“I am so grateful that I didn’t miss the dance of Lulu’s life and the dance of her spirit,” Gretchan says.
Her message to a broken world is simple: “Create your world the way you dream it to be!”
“I Am the Rainbow,” was illustrated by Cape Cod-based artist Terry Kole, and is published by U.K.-based ABELA Publishing (http://abelapublishing.com.)
