Wareham Garden Club announces $1,000 scholarships available to high school seniors and college students
The Wareham Garden Club has announced that $1,000 scholarships are available for award during the spring of 2016.
Scholarships are available to qualifying high school seniors AND college students.
Eligible high school student applicants must:
- be a resident of Wareham.
- be graduating in the spring of 2016 from any high school or technical school
- have been accepted to an accredited college or school of higher education and
- focus his/her study in one or more of the following areas: the environment, horticulture, agriculture, biology, marine biology, earth sciences, or conservation in the broadest sense and
- submit an application postmarked on or before April 30, 2016.
Any qualified applicant will be given extra consideration for having participated in extra-curricular activities in any of the fields listed above in High School and/or in the community.
Scholarship applications are now available and have been sent to area high hchools. Interested students should contact their respective Guidance Offices for further information, or they may contact the WGC Scholarship Chair (below).
Eligible college student applicants must:
- be a resident of Wareham
- be a current student at an accredited college or school of higher education and
- focus his/her study in one or more of the following areas: the environment, horticulture, agriculture, biology, marine biology, earth sciences, or conservation in the broadest sense,
- provide transcripts showing successful completion of course work,
- submit an application and transcripts postmarked on or before August 31, 2016.
