Wareham gets a true evergreen for the holidays
The Town of Wareham is ringing in the holiday spirit by adding a new 30-foot Christmas tree to the Town’s Christmas festivities. The new tree will be planted in front of Town Hall, on 54 Marion Road, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23. A tree lighting ceremony will follow on December 11, 2010 at 4:30 p.m.
The new tree-lighting ceremony was created by the Wareham Festive Fall and Wonderful Winter Committee as part of the Winter Celebration, and the 30-foot tall tree was donated by Michael Hogan, President, of A. D. Makepeace.
“On behalf of the Wareham Board of Selectmen, we welcome the added festivities that will serve to compliment our fine tradition of holiday programs," said Jane Donahue, chair of the Board of Selectmen. "I hope that our families, friends and especially our children, enjoy this year’s special holiday events.”
“I want to thank Mr. Michael Hogan and A.D. Makepeace for this generous donation," said Mark Andrews, town administrator. "The new tree will provide a new dimension for our holiday festivities and add a green component to this program.”
