Wareham High class of 1946 celebrates 65 years
To the Editor:
The Wareham High School Class of 1946 held its 65th class reunion at Riverside Restaurant in Middleborough on Saturday, August 13. There were 12 classmates and 10 guests present for the event, which was held as part of the Wareham Alumni Association's 19th annual Grand Reunion.
A chicken, steak, and chocolate cake meal was enjoyed by all.
Classmates reminisced about the past 65 years, read latters from those not able to attend, and enjoyed photo albums prepared by classmate Leonora Canute Fernandes.
Members of the class of 1946 present were: David Cairns of North Carolina, Harold Cleveland of Virginia, Frank Sylvia of New Hampshire, John Ames of Maine, Joseph Ingargiola of Belchertown, Kenneth Semedo of West Wareham, William Andrade of Onset, Patricia Fraher Evans of Wareham, David Fraher of Bridgewater, Marion Cruz Teixeira of New Bedford, Leonora Canute Fernandes of West Wareham, and Claire Coville McWilliams of Wareham. Also present were husbands, wives, family members, and other guests.
From a graduating class of 68 members, we have lost 33. We have 35 classmates left. A very memorable evening was enjoyed by all present.
Committee members for the 65th class reunion were Claire Coville McWilliams and Leonora Canute Fernandes.
We would like to thank Claire Smith and Susan Fluegel of the Alumni Association for all their help.
