Wareham High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductees announced
The Wareham High School Athletic Hall of Fame has announced this year’s inductees. Seven people and one team will be honored at the Hall of Fame Dinner on Nov. 26 starting at 6 p.m. in the Rosebrook Convention Center.
Tickets cost $50 and may be purchased at Wareham High School.
The inductees are: from the 1950s, Clyde Monteiro (basketball, baseball and football); from the 1960s, Miguel Gomes (basketball and baseball); from the 1970s, Edwin Rose (baseball, football and basketball); from the 1980s, Nick Fernandes (basketball and football) and Chris Mendes (football and basketball); from the 2000s, Samantha Sandland (track, soccer and basketball); from the coaching category, Bill Maxwell (football and basketball 1963-1970); from the team category, the 1956 basketball state champions.
The Hall of Fame board of directors is accepting nominations for next years inductees. Forms are available online at www.warehampublicschools.org.
The group is also seeking volunteers and board members.
