Wareham High School band and choir perform jingles
Conducting a school concert for the first time, new Wareham High School Music Director Heather Ware was thrilled with her students’ winter concert performance Thursday evening.
Ware recently graduated from the University of New Hampshire.
“I have been here just a few months. This is my first concert,” she said. “I’m so proud of [my students’] performance tonight.”
Ware directs both the choir and band. At the winter concert on Dec. 12, the groups performed classic Christmas tunes including “Joy to the World,” “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and more to an audience of nearly 75 people.
For the choir, soloists included Katelin Murphy, Tyrone Cabral, Kimberly Barboza, Michaela Bottino, Ethan Dela Cruz and Zachary Monty.
On the instrumental side, trumpet player Jeffrey Cifello has been selected for the All Cape & Islands Music Festival. Bottino was also selected for the festival for the choir.
The festival takes place on Jan. 30, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 next year. Selections for the festival were made based on an audition.
