Wareham home for Krua Thai's second location

Restaurant-goers looking to expand their palates have a new choice for food in Wareham.
Owners of Buzzards Bay Thai restaurant Krua Thai opened their second eatery on August 9 at 3043 Cranberry Highway in East Wareham.
"It's nice to have a change," said patron John "Buckie" Zanardelli as he forked down some tofu at the new restaurant on Thursday.
"We get tired of hamburger buns," added his wife, Kathy Zanardelli.
The Zanardellis are residents of White Island Shores in Plymouth. They were frequent customers of Krua Thai I in Buzzards Bay, and are happy they no longer have to travel as far to get their Thai food fix, they said.
"This is his favorite place to eat," said Kathy Zanardelli about her husband. "It's very quick. And healthy."
Krua Thai, which means "Thai kitchen" in Thai, has a location at 100 Main Street in Buzzards Bay. That restaurant is called Krua Thai I, said owner Chankait Suksanit, and the new location is called Krua Thai II.
Krua Thai II is "close to the highway," said Suksanit. It's "very convenient for the customers to come in."
The new restaurant's menu is similar to the one in Buzzards Bay, but with a few more choices, Suksanit said.
His restaurant also has a drive-through, something rare for Thai restaurants, he noted.
"We cook very fast," Suksanit said with a grin.
The building housed a Subway restaurant before Krua Thai II, said Joe Morrison, a friend of Suksanit and the general contractor who renovated the building. Included in the renovations, which only took two months, Morrison said, was a revamped kitchen.
"It's the only Thai restaurant in town that I know of," said Morrison. "I'm really hoping that they do well."
