Wareham house fire causes $75,000 in damage

A house fire on Cranberry Highway caused an estimated $75,000 worth of damage on Dec. 17, according to the Wareham Fire Department.
The fire at 2710 Cranberry Highway was reported just before 9 p.m. The single story ranch was unoccupied during the fire.
Two engines, one ladder and firefighters from Onset and Marion responded to the blaze. There were no injuries; however, the fire claimed the lives of two dogs.
According to Assistant Fire Chief John Kelley, the fire, which was deemed accidental, originated in the home's gas stove.
