Wareham Land Trust to hold awards ceremony and conservation land opening
Wareham Land Trust photo contest winners will be recognized at a combination awards ceremony and conservation land opening Dec. 6.
The trust will hold the official opening of the Tweedy & Barnes conservation area on Blackmore Pond Rd. at 1 p.m. Festivities will include the award ceremony recognizing the 19 winners of the photo contest. There will be guided walks, a tailgate party, and refreshments.
The Wareham Land Trust mission is to conserve Wareham’s open space and natural resources, to unite citizens in a common goal of conservation and responsible land use, and to educate the public about the environmental and economic benefits of protecting open space and promoting sustainable development.
Directions to Tweedy & Barnes are as follows: Follow Main Street, turn onto Fearing Hill Road to Blackmore Pond Road. Parking is off the pavement on Blackmore Pond Road less than a quarter mile from County Road.
